Following OSCE Summit in Astana, Azerbaijan will make active diplomatic moves in the future. It is not ruled out Azerbaijan will provoke military hostilities. In response, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will hardly evoke a strong response, Giro Manoyan, head of the Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) office, ARF Dashnaktsutyun told the reporters on December 3.

As for the Astana statement, Manoyan said the document was neither good nor a bad one.

"The document cites statements by Presidents of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, made in 2009 and 2010, in which Madrid Principles, other elements and steps are indicated. These elements and steps are unacceptable for Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnakstutyun, as they disregard the developments in the Karabakh peace process after 1988,” Manoyan said. According to him, though the document is not such a good one, its existence itself is hailed as a positive step, as it testifies to further negotiation process.

Asked why Karabakh peace process did not achieve a breakthrough in Astana, ARFD member said:  “The mediators are interested in the conflict resolution, but they are not at all ready to place the conflicting parties under pressure. If the pressure is in question, it should be exerted on both sides. However, the co-chairs are concerned over the conflict not to develop into a war.”
