A group of Jewish professors, living in the United States and Israel called on Israel to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide during the First World War, israelnationalnews.com reports referring to Firat agency.
Four professors from “Georgetown” University in Washington and Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan of the Tel Aviv District sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The letter-request also urges to contribute to the process of granting autonomy to millions of Kurds living in Turkey.
“26 countries and 44 states of America have already recognized the Armenian Genocide. However, Israel surviving a Holocaust is not among them,” the professors said in a letter.
