The Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) party welcomes Council of Alderman’s decision to elect Chairman of ArmRusgasprom Board Karen Karapetyan a Yerevan Mayor.

“As the head of ArmRusgazprom Karapetyan showed a high level of professional skills and proved he can work. During his years in office provision of gas supply to the republic accelerated dramatically. We hope he would show his skills in the post of a mayor as well,” Heghine Bisharyan, head of the Orinats Yerkir parliamentary group, told NEWS.am.

Speaking about government reshuffle, in particular resignation of Justice Minister Gevorg Danielyan and upcoming retirement of Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan, the MP noted that each party of ruling coalition keeps track of its ministers’ activities and takes appropriate decisions if shortcomings are noticed. “I welcome Republican Party’s decision on reshuffle as the party noticed some shortcomings in the actions of the ministers. Timely staff changes were made not to affect relevant fields,” she added.

Bisharyan noted that the Orinats Yerkir is closely following work of its ministers and is still satisfied with their activities. “Fruitful and efficient work of Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan and Manuk Vardanyan, Transport and Communications Minister, is obvious,” she said. Asked why she did not mention Agriculture Minister Gerasim Alaverdyan, the MP stressed that rumors about Gerasim Alaverdyan had been recently spread in vain. “I assure you that the party is happy with his work and his resignation is not discussed by Orinats Yerkir. We are not discussing recall of our ministers, as we are satisfied with their work,” Bisharyan concluded.
