Clashes occurred between the police and protestors during the march, organized by the Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party in the city of Diyarbakir located in south-western Turkey.
The leader of the Peace and Democracy party, Selahetim Demirtaş, Mayor of Diyarbakir Osman Baydemir arrived in the city in order to calm the situation and to prevent tension.
During the clashes with the police, a demonstrator tried to throw a bottle containing a flammable substance from the party office in the direction of the soldiers, but the bottle fell causing a fire in the office. Members of the Peace and Democracy Party barely managed to extinguish the fire.
In another location, a grenade exploded in the hands of one of the protesters. Three people were injured and hospitalized.
