December 14, RA President Serzh Sargsyan sent to the RA Constitutional Court the Armenian-Russian agreement prolonging Russia’s military presence in Armenia, Hovhannes Papikyan, Press Secretary of the RA Constitutional Court, told NEWS.am.

The President of the RA Constitutional Court instructed one of the judges to study the constitutionality of the agreement, whereafter the document will be submitted to the Armenian Parliament for approval. The date of the court sitting has not yet been fixed. The issue is most likely to be settled next January.

The protocol amending the Armenian-Russian agreement on the Russian military base in Armenia was signed during RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Armenia, August 19-22.
