Artyusha Shahbazyan, Secretary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), does not believe the rumors about possible dissolution of the Armenian Parliament.

“I wonder what the source of the rumors is. In case of early elections, will the authorities get a Parliament identical to the one they have now? I do not think so. Under the circumstances, it would be expensive luxury – both financial and political. In any case, elections pose a threat to political stability,” Shahbazyan told journalists Dec. 24. Although he does not believe the rumors about the Parliament’s dissolution, he notes some tendencies.

Armenia is “in the mire” so any change creates the impression of some movement.

If personnel changes are expected to enhance the system’s efficiency, they are worth welcoming. On the other hand, there is no point in them if no radical solutions are found, Shahbazyan said.
