Water level on Lake Sevan has risen 47 cm. this year – up to 1,899.71 meters, RA Minister of Nature Protection Ara Harutyunyan told journalists Dec. 27.
He pointed out an upward tendency throughout the year. In 2008, water level rose 6 cm and in 2009, 38 cm. This year, a total of 235 million cubic meters of water have flowed into Lake Sevan through the Arpa-Sevan tunnel against 230.8 million cubic meters the previous year.
The ministry carried out serious cleaning work in an area of 138 hectares around the lake.
