Gazprom owes Georgia for the transit of Russian gas to Armenia. Prime Minister Nika Gilauri told a press conference.

Prime Minister did not specify the amount of debt, but said that Tbilisi “will claim the money whenever wants to.” “But the matter is not relevant,” he said.

After Georgia secured itself with Azerbaijani gas, Gazprom was forced to pay for transit of Russian gas to Armenia via the North-South pipeline, passing through Georgia. Prior to this, Moscow and Tbilisi have been bartering Russian gas exchange to Georgia in for transit.
