Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili’s visit to Armenia will not bring about critical changes in the current situation, Director of Caucasus Institute, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan told a press conference on January 19.

According to him, the sides will discuss issues on bilateral relations during Saakashvili’s visit. “Georgia is a significant neighbor of Armenia. In this regard, the Georgian President’s visit to Armenia is of high importance. Despite 70% of cargo transportation to Armenia is carried out via Georgia and the two states have lots of shared problems, Armenian and Georgian leaders have infrequent contacts due to obvious reasons,” the political scientist said.

As NEWS.am reported previously, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili will pay an official visit to Armenia on January 22.
