If Armenia  does not solve the problems on political prisoners and fails to take into account the people’s discontent with corruption and economic crisis, the repetition of Tunisian events are likely in the country, Richard Giragosian, Head of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies, told journalists January 20.

“These are domestic issues. There were few cases when such problems were solved under foreign influence.  Armenian citizens, not European agencies should bring about real changes for themselves,” he said.

According to him, the authorities’ decision on the release of Sasun Mikaelyan and Nikol Pahsinyan, as well as other political prisoners would be a progress.
