As a result of heavy snowfall in western Georgia, 23,800 consumers were left without electricity on February 2. Power engineering technical teams are working in emergency mode, stated the spokesman for “Energo-Pro Georgia”.

According to him power lines were damaged because of heavy snow, which led to emergency power outages on Wednesday morning. As a result 18.3 thousand subscribers in Adjara and 5,500 subscribers in the region of Guria were left without electricity.

“Energo-Pro Georgia”, which is owned by the Czech company “Energo-Pro”, covers 70% of Georgia’s territory, except Georgia’s capital and parts of Kakheti.

The total number of company’s consumer is 860 thousand, Novosti-Georgia reports.
