Treasurer of Australia Scott Morrison has been elected ruling Liberal Party of Australia leader and will become the country’s next Prime Minister, according to ABC television.
Voting for the new leader of the party was held at Friday afternoon’s meeting of the parliamentary faction of this political force.
Outgoing PM Malcolm Turnbull on Thursday had stated that he will quit politics if his fellow party members were to hold a vote on the leader of the party.
