Turkey hopes for Russia's support in the fight against the Kurds, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his article for Russia's Kommersant newspaper.
According to him, during the negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Sochi, he said the country would inform all interested parties that Turkey attaches great importance to the release of the regions controlled by the Democratic Union Party and the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Unfortunately, we see that the extraordinary support that has recently been provided, especially by the US to these forces, continues, Erdogan said adding that such steps which damage the balance in the region and the peace between its peoples, must be stopped.
According to him, Turkey hopes for Russia's support in the struggle of Turkey with such terrorist organizations as the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the PYD and the SDF.
Turkey thinks their neighboring countries should have a common view of the circumstances threatening each other's security, Erdogan added.
