Russia points out the inadmissibility of any attempts to redistribute the powers of other statutory bodies, including the Security Council, in favor of the General Assembly, Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.

"We support feasible initiatives to rationalize the UN General Assembly. Our top priority is to finetune its working methods and streamline its overloaded  agenda. Any innovation should be reasonable. Unacceptable are any attempts to redistribute the powers of other statutory bodies, including the Security Council, in favor of the General Assembly," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
