YEREVAN. – Our viewpoints are not extremely different. Former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Vice-Chairman Armen Ashotyan, who is also a member of the National Assembly (NA) faction of the RPA, on Tuesday told the aforementioned to reporters at parliament. He noted this commenting on Monday evening’s talk between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and NA RPA faction head Vahram Baghdasaryan, on holding a snap parliamentary election in the country.

“I was surprised that, at the end of the meeting, the PM attributed to the RPA a decision of not holding elections until 2022 [when the regular parliamentary election is slated for]; the faction doesn’t have such a decision,” Ashotyan said. “One can’t attribute us [RPA] such a decision in the context of yesterday’s meeting.”

Also, reporters asked Armen Ashotyan what he meant by saying that their viewpoints are not extremely different.

“[By saying that] I stress that political processes have an ultimate goal: Compatibility of the social, economic, political interests of the society, state, people,” he responded, in particular.
