YEREVAN. – A commemoration event devoted to the late Charles Aznavour is in progress Friday at the square that has been named after him in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

A photograph of the legendary French Armenian singer, as well as flowers and burning candles are on Aznavour’s star in the center of this square.

In addition, the farewell ceremony for Aznavour—and which is being held in Paris—is being livestreamed on a large screen which is installed at Charles Aznavour Square.

Aznavour passed away Monday aged 94, in his house in southern France, and of natural causes.
