“The King’s Speech” was named the big winner with four Oscars on February 27, including best film and best actor for its star Colin Firth. The film’s director Tom Hooper won best director Oscar.  

The 83rd Academy Awards was broadcasted on ABC.

Natalie Portman was named the best actress Academy Award for her role of a young ballerina who grows into womanhood in “Black Swan”.

“True Grit,” “The Social Network,” “The Fighter”, “Black Swan” and “The King’s Speech,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “Inception”, “Winters Bone” were also among top movie nominees.
