India does not intend to introduce retaliatory tariffs for American goods after the US decision to end preferential GSP program for Turkish products dumped into the US markets, an Indian trade ministry official Anup Wadhawan said on Tuesday.

“Discussions are on with the United States, and given cordial and strong ties, keeping retaliatory tariffs out of it,” Reuters reported quoting her. “The government will internally review the retaliatory tariff issue.”

As reported earlier, US President Donald Trump said Monday that he has kicked India and Turkey out of U.S. program that allows developing countries to export thousands of goods to the United States without paying duties.
