On 13 March, Armenia’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan Garnik Badalyan met with Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan Resul Rejepow, reports the news service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, according to NEWS.am.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a broad range of issues on light and textile industries in Armenia and Turkmenistan, including cooperation in the spheres of cotton processing and carpet weaving and trade of raw materials and fabricated products.
The parties also touched upon issues related to the organizing of preparatory activities for the 9th session of the Armenian-Turkmen Inter-Governmental Economic Commission to be held in Ashkhabad in mid-2019 and textile industry, which is included in the agenda for the session.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of the opening of trade homes and the restoration of direct air-to-ground communication in the near future in the context of activation of economic ties between Armenia and Turkmenistan and increase of trade turnover.
