On 3 April, Armenia’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimyan had a meeting with President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Radek Vondráček.

As reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Armenian News-NEWS.am, greeting the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, President Vondráček expressed willingness to become actively involved in the Armenian-Czech inter-parliamentary relations and expressed his sympathy with the newly elected parliament of Armenia and the democratic development processes unfolding in the country.

The Armenian ambassador expressed gratitude to the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic for the Chamber’s adoption of a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide in 2017. He presented Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and particularly stressed the growing cooperation with the European Union.

The ambassador highly appreciated the high level of Armenian-Czech inter-parliamentary relations and the dynamics of the reciprocal visits of parliamentary delegations and voiced hope that Radek Vondráček would visit Armenia in the near future.

The ambassador also informed the president of the Chamber of Deputies about the latest developments of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
