US President Donald Trump on Thursday during a meeting in Washington with South Korean President Moon Jae-in stated that he has good relations with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and that he is ready for dialogue with him, White House press service reported. 

“President Trump and President Moon have made clear that North Korea should follow through on its commitment to final, fully verified denuclearization,” the source noted.

Moon, in his turn, said he does not view the Hanoi summit as a failure, but part of a longer "process" towards denuclearization. Trump described his relationship with Kim as "very strong." 

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of continuing close coordination and cooperation on North Korea, and also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the economy.

The first US-North Korean summit was held in Singapore in June 2018, and the second in February 2019 in Hanoi. The parties have so far failed to agree on a deal on denuclearization and security guarantees on the Korean peninsula.
