The death toll in the series of explosions in Sri Lanka has exceeded 200 people, the local News First website reported.

There is no exact data on a number of foreigners among casualties. The Daily Mail said Brits, Americans, Dutch and Portuguese were among the victims. RIA Novosti agency said two Turkey nationals were killed.

The first six blasts targeted three churches and three hotels, another rocked near the central zoo, while the last one was carried out by a suicide bomber in Colobmo's suburb of Dematagoda. Three police officers were also killed during the last explosion.

The authorities extended vacations in schools for two additional days and canceled classes in universities.

A curfew has been declared in Sri Lanka, lessons in schools and universities have been canceled.

The authorities decided to temporarily bloc the access to social media and messengers to prevent distribution of unverified and false reports.
