Spanish authorities are fighting a fire that broke out on the Gran Canaria island, ITV reported.

A total of 1000 hectares of land caught fire, which led to the evacuation of 1000 people.

The regional government of the Canary Islands reported that 200 firefighters and 10 aviation units are fighting the elements.

The causes of the fire are still unknown.

The Spanish television channel RTVE reported that the evacuation of people was carried out with all possible precautions, they were not injured at home.
