Raffi Hovannisian’s “Fasting for Liberty” was in fact a civil action, a civil and political protest, said secretary of the Heritage Party.

Hovannisian’s action was directed not only to the authorities, but opposition and society as well, Karine Hakobyan told journalists on Thursday. “Hunger strike supposes self-sacrifice and it shocked people. They realized there is a person who is ready to make sacrifice,” Hakobyan said.

Speaking of the Armenian opposition forces, member of the Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian’s message was a call to unite not around a certain person or leader but nation.

Thereafter the Heritage Party will attend parliament sessions, she concluded.
