Millions of people in the US state of California may lose their electricity due to forest fires that broke out in the state, DW reported.
Electricity supply company Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) reported a likely blackout in 36 state districts amid weather forecasters predicting a historic wind that could damage equipment and lead to new fires.
A state of emergency declared in Los Angeles and Sonoma.
The California fire department said it was dealing with critical fire hazard.
