YEREVAN. – Police officers had detained Artur Baghdasaryan, a student of the Armenian State University of Economics, by using violence and inflicting physical injuries. His mother, Hranush Parsyan, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"My son has nothing to do at all with that fight," she added, in particular.
She noted that at the police station, her son had not been allowed to answer his phone calls for three hours, and therefore they had not known where their son was and in what condition he was.
Ms. Hranush said that her son was beaten so much while being detained and at the police station that he was now lying in the house, and with injuries.
"We are waiting to see a doctor on Monday and find out what condition our son is," she added. "And we will petition to the Human Rights Defender."
As reported earlier, yesterday a dispute and a fight took place in Yerevan and, according to Shamshyan.com, a group of university students beat a 23-year-old policeman.
