Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone died aged 101, The Guardian reported.
Nakasone led the Japanese government from 1982 to 1987. He has also been a member of the key lower house of the Japanese Parliament for over 50 years.
His son, Hirofumi Nakasone, is also a member of parliament from the ruling Liberal Democratic Party; he served as Minister of Education and FM.
Yasuhiro Nakasone was born on May 27, 1918 in the small town of Takasaki. He led the list of centenarians among current or former heads of state.
