Nine people died, three were injured in a plane crash on Saturday afternoon in the US state of South Dakota, Fox News reported.

There were 12 people on PC-12 plane board. The crash occurred near the city of Chamberlain shortly after take-off.

A pilot and two children are among the victims.

According to information on the Pilatus website, the PC-12 models can carry up to 10 people.
