YEREVAN. - A case of abuse of official position by the mayor of Baghramyan village was revealed during the investigation of a criminal case being investigated by the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia.

It was found out that the head of Baghramyan rural community, being aware that a large agricultural company wanted to acquire new land and expand its activities in the aforesaid community as well as in the neighboring community, did not provide company representatives with relevant information on the ownership of the community-owned land in order to privatize the land in the community’s balance and to sell it to the buyer at a very high price, and as a result, a loss of about 62 million drams was caused to the community, the SRC informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The SRC has launched a criminal case into this incident.
