Minister of Environment of Armenia Erik Grigoryan today received Executive Director of Caucasus Nature Fund Geof Giacomini and Representative Office Director-Armenia at Caucasus Nature Fund Arman Vermishyan, reports the news service of the Ministry of Enviroment.

Minister Erik Grigoryan and Geof Giacomini discussed the results of the joint programs. Mr. Giacomini expressed his satisfaction with the past and current activities in specially protected nature areas in Armenia.

During the meeting, Minister Grigoryan stated that the Government of Armenia has essentially increased funding for specially protected forest and nature areas and will be carrying out large-scale programs in the sector of forest restoration.

Geof Giacomini also informed that the Caucasus Nature Fund will give a nearly EUR 900,000 grant to Armenia in 2020. The amount will be mainly geared towards the premiums for employees working in specially protected nature areas and co-financing of other expenditures.
