One person has died and several others are severely injured in a major road accident in Armenia today.

At 12:51am, the 911 service received a call that a road accident had occurred near Mastara village of Aragatsotn Province, and there were affected.

A rescue team left for the scene.

It turned out that the car had gone off road on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, ended up in the field between the road, and a passenger had died on the spot.

Before rescuers arrived at the scene, two other passengers were taken to Talin town hospital where doctors said they were in critical condition.
