If Styopa Safaryan doesn’t change his approaches, people might start leaving the Public Council of Armenia. This is what member of the Public Council, former MP Arsak Sadoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, adding that even he still hasn’t decided whether he will stay or not.

According to Sadoyan, judging from Stopya Safaryan’s recent statements, it seems as though he has always been against the operation of the Public Council, even though the need for the Public Council is provided for by the Constitution. Sadoyan added that the president of the Public Council has to have clear-cut positions on important issues for all Armenians around the world.

During its session today, the government decided to appoint Stopya Safaryan president of the Public Council of Armenia. Stopya Safaryan is known as a pro-Western analyst and will be replacing ex-president of the Public Council Vazgen Manukyan, who resigned in mid-November.
