One person was injured after shots were fired on December 21, in Kotayk Province of Armenia.
Police received reports that shots were fired at a restaurant in Goght village, at the 38th birthday of A.S., a resident of the same village, shamshyan.com reports.
On December 22, Ara Hayrapetyan, 37, a resident of Garni village Kotayk province, was detained in this connection.
Police and investigators received information that Hayrapetyan, not being in a sober state, was disrespectful to the participants during this birthday party, and had fired several irregular shots in the air with an unregistered pistol.
Hayrapetyan then drove to Garni village in his car and, reportedly, carelessly fired shots from his car, causing a gunshot wound to his left leg.
He was taken to a Yerevan hospital.
Police and investigators have found and confiscated the pistol that was, and the detainee had been previously convicted of robbery and hooliganism.
A criminal case has been instituted on the fact.
