YEREVAN. – A criminal case has been launched on former judge Samvel Uzunyan’s leaving Armenia, and under Criminal Code article on official negligence by officials. Gor Abrahamyan, Adviser to the Prosecutor General, informed about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Abrahamyan added that the Special Investigation Service (SIS) has assumed the investigation into this case.

On December 20, Uzunyan was included as an accused in an ongoing criminal case, and the respective decision was sent to the SIS in order to bring charges against him and to select his pretrial measure.

Arrest was chosen as his pretrial measure.

But Samvel Uzunyan left Armenia at the time of submitting and discussing the respective petitions, and therefore a decision was made to declare him wanted.
