The current government did not pursue any policy in Armenia aimed at establishing the rule of law in the country this year, as it had constantly stated before, Yerkir Tsirani party head Zaruhi Postanjyan told reporters on Friday.
According to her, such a policy was not pursued either by the executive or the legislative branch.
"The judicial system of Armenia intends to administer justice in the country, however, it could not do this under pressure from the executive branch. At the same time, the judiciary was not able to administer justice in the country because of the existing corruption mechanisms that are inherent in it," she said.
The opposition official also noted that illegal actions against the media are encouraged by the current authorities.
