YEREVAN. – During the meeting with the journalists, Arman Chilingaryan, Deputy Chief of the Traffic Police of Armenia, presented the details of the introduction of the “point system” for drivers’ evaluation.

Provisions on violations recorded by video surveillance and traffic enforcement cameras will come into force in the country on January 1.

"We hope that the introduction of the ‘point system’ will increase the discipline of drivers," Chilingaryan said.

Along with the introduction of the “point system,” some types of traffic violations will be criminally punishable.

The requirement to provide actual driver information in the event that the owner of the vehicle has no driver's license is also will come into force in the country on January 1.

In the case of some traffic violations, the driver's licenses will be immediately suspended.
