YEREVAN - The Armenian National Congress (ANC) does not intend to be embroiled in a dispute with forces outside the ruling coalition, Coordinator of ANC Central Office Levon Zurabyan told reporters on Wednesday. He commented on the statement by Stepan Safaryan, head of “Heritage” parliamentary group, who urged to stop mutual criticism. “The ANC has a conflict only with the authorities,” he stressed.

He disagreed with the assessments that Armenian National Congress fails to demand Serzh Sargsyan’s impeachment. “Formation of legitimate power in Armenia is top priority for us. The right way to achieve our goal is first and foremost to hold snap presidential elections, which may be followed by early parliamentary elections,” Zurabyan noted.

The oppositionist also referred to the ANC-set demands, saying they do not talk in terms of ultimatums.

“If Levon Ter-Petrosyan issues an ultimatum, he will use clear political wordings,” Zurabyan emphasized.

“We are not yet inclined to talks with the authorities in terms of ultimatums, but people’s patience is not infinite. April 28 will either inaugurate a dialogue or will become a day of a final rupture of relations between the authorities and society,” Ter-Petrosyan stated in his speech during Apr. 8 rally.
