Japanese police discovered human remains in a wooden boat that allegedly came from North Korea, Reuters reported.

Two heads and five bodies have been found. According to Japanese law enforcement agencies, an investigation is underway.

The death boat was nailed to Sado Island, located in the northwest of Niigata Prefecture.

Korean inscriptions were made on the outside of the boat.
