It turned out that an Opel and a Mercedes had collided on the Spitak-Arevashogh highway.
Opel driver Rafayel M. (born in 1990), and passengers Hasmik P. (born in 1992), Robert (born in 2014) and Eva (born in 2016) M. were taken to Spitak town hospital where doctors assessed the health of Hasmik P. and Robert M. as critical, while that of Rafayel and Eva M. as very critical. Eva M. was later transferred to Vanadzor town hospital.
The situation of the injured is satisfactory at this moment. The Spitak medical center informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
According to the doctor, their lives are no longer at risk. “The man and two children were diagnosed with internal bleeding; all three have undergone surgery,” he said. “The man and the 6-year-old boy are at us, whereas the little girls was sent to the Vanadzor hospital immediately after being admitted; she was operated on there. All three of them are in satisfactory condition, the boy was discharged today, whereas the man and the 5-year-old girl are in hospital. One of the passengers was diagnosed with a fracture of the jaw and chest, she was taken to Mikaelyan hospital [in Yerevan] and is also in satisfactory condition."
The Vanadzor hospital informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the child is in a pediatric surgical center. "The condition of the child is assessed as satisfactory," they added.
