Acting Armenian police chief Ara Sargsyan signed a number of orders on January 8, shamshyan.com reported.
The criminal investigation department for combating organized crime of the police was abolished.
By another order of Sargsyan, the mentioned departments were united in the main directorate of the criminal police. Colonel Artak Karapetyan, who is one of the veterans of the police system, has been appointed head of the new headquarters.
