The eruption of the volcano La Cumbre hit Ecuador on Sunday, Galapagos National Park wrote on its Facebook, TASS reported.
The volcano La Cumbre began volcanic activity today at about 6:15pm, the park said in a statement.
According to the source, La Cumbre is located on the uninhabited island of Fernandina in the western part of the Galapagos Islands. Its height is almost 1.5 thousand meters.
The last time the volcano erupted in June 2018.
