The Israeli military struck Hamas positions in Gaza Wednesday night in response to a projectile fired from the strip that landed in Israeli territory, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) statement said, Haaretz reported.

The IDF said it struck "a number of Hamas terror targets" in the southern Gaza Strip, among them a weapons manufacturing site and underground infrastructure.

A projectile launched from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday fell in an open area near an Israeli border community, causing no damage or casualties, the Israeli army said.
