US President Donald Trump created a working group to combat the spread of the new coronavirus from China, it included the leadership of several departments, the White House said.

According to presidential spokesman Stephanie Grisham, the working group has already held three daily meetings. Trump announced the next meeting on Wednesday evening.

The working group will coordinate the administration’s efforts to track, control and prevent the spread of the virus, and will ensure that Americans have the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding healthcare and travel, the statement said.

The White House assured that the risk of infection for Americans remains low and that all departments will fight against the possible penetration of the virus into the US. Currently, five cases have been confirmed on American territory.

The working group included the Minister of Health Alex Azar, National Security Advisor to the President Robert O`Brien, as well as Robert Redfield, current Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The group was joined by First Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun, acting First Deputy Minister of Homeland Security Ken Cuccinelli, Acting Deputy Transport Minister and a number of Trump's aides.

Chinese authorities has earlier reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan. The first cases were related to the seafood market. Experts previously established that the causative agent of the disease was a new type of coronavirus - 2019-nCoV. According to recent data, the total number of patients with pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus in China reached 7,711 people, of whom 170 died.

Cases of infection have also been recorded in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, the US, Canada, Vietnam, Singapore, Nepal, France, Australia, Malaysia, Germany, and Finland.
