Georgia hospitalized a tourist from China right after the plane landed at the airport. This is what Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia Amiran Gamkrelidze said, reports Sputnik Gruzia.
The plane which the Georgian citizen was aboard, landed at Tbilisi International Airport at midday. The female citizen was traveling from Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of the coronavirus.
“The Georgian citizen, who returned from China via a transit flight in the afternoon, had symptoms of a fever and a respiratory disease. She has been transferred to an infection hospital,” Gamkrelidze said.
Earlier, a 24-year-old citizen of Georgia had been transferred to an infection hospital from Tbilisi International Airport. She had a very high body temperature and a sore throat. The results of the checkup have yet to be announced.
