In 2019, 4.9 million transactions were made in Armenia with foreign bank cards. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote this on Facebook.

"This figure has increased by 102%, or 2.5 million transactions, against 2017, up 48%, or 1.6 million transactions, against 2018," he added. “In terms of drams, in 2019 we had transactions of 178 billion drams from foreign bank cards, which is 44%, or 54 billion drams, more than against 2017, and by 28%, or 38 billion drams, against 2018.

As you have noticed, the number of transactions has a higher percentage increase than the dram volume of the transactions.

This may mean that foreign tourists have made more use of small and medium-sized business services because relatively lower-cost transactions are usually made with small and medium-sized businesses, with small cash payments to small businesses, including paying for taxis.

And this means that the economic ideology we have adopted works in real life."
