Serious efforts have recently been made to get the Armenian Genocide internationally recognized, Yeghine Bisharyan, Chairwoman of the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary group, told Armenian News-NEWS.am. In the course of time, more countries will be recognizing the Armenian Genocide, she said.

She finds it difficult to say whether Armenia will be able to get the Armenian Genocide internationally recognized and condemned by the 100th anniversary of the crime and get restitution. If more countries recognize the Armenian Genocide and Turkey comes under pressure it may pay restitution.

As to the opposition forces’ statements on serious regress in the recognition process after the Armenian-Turkish protocols, Bisharyan said that the process is slow. “Never before have we seen such consistency in Armenian-Turkish reconciliation,” she said.
