The British authorities on Monday removed some of the restrictions imposed in the country on March 23 to combat the COVID-19 spread.

Most non-food stores, drive-in cinemas, and zoos are reopening, despite catering establishments and pubs, TASS reported.

The desire of the UK authorities to accelerate the recovery of the country's economy through the gradual easing of quarantine has caused criticism from the World Health Organization (WHO) representatives.

As WHO Regional Director Hans Kluge told the Guardian newspaper, the kingdom is at a very active stage of the pandemic, and its authorities must be extremely careful when lifting restrictions.
