Mexico's COVID-19 death toll has reached 18,310, RIA Novosti reported referring to Jose Luis Alomia, the director of epidemiology at the health ministry.
The first COVID-19 case was recorded in Mexico on February 28. The total number of infected has reached 154,863.
Since Monday, the health ministry has changed the epidemiological threat signal for 16 states in the north, southeast, and central part of the country from a red indicator (maximum threat) to orange (high threat).
These states have lifted restrictions on visiting public places. Restaurants and beauty salons are allowed to receive visitors with half-load of the hall.
Cinemas, churches, and shopping centers can receive 25% of visitors.
