The COVID-19 spread in Beijing is under control now, TASS reported referring to Xu Hejian, director of the information office of the municipal government.

According to him, reports of new local infections dropped on Sunday.

He noted that they have restrained the trend towards the COVID-19 spread and the situation is developing in a favorable direction, but it should be understood that the epidemiological situation remains serious and complex.

China has recorded 18 COVID-19 cases in a day with nine of them in Beijing.
