Armenian “Mika” Yerevan team defeated ShSM-64 Moscow team in the second round of European Club Cup 2009 in Ohrid, Macedonia.

Five of six Armenian chess players Levon Aronian, Vladimir Hakobyan, Arman Pashikyan, Zaven Andreasyan and Tigran Petrosyan drew the games and Gabriel Sargsyan defeated Caruana Fabiano (Russia). Grandmasters Sergey Karyakin and Boris Grachev represent Russian ShSM-64 team.

Armenia ranks 1st (4 points) out of 14 teams after the second round.

“Mika” Yerevan will face one of the championship leaders PVK-Kievchess team in the third round of the tournament.
